Knowing When It’s Time

Brothers and sisters,

“Go out from her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues” (Revelation 18:4, ESV).

Every story has an end—whether it’s an old car you’ve nursed along, its engine failed twice, its transmission slipping, and rust creeping through every panel, or a beloved pet, once full of life, now blind, deaf, unable to walk, in pain. In both cases, we recognize when it’s time to stop pouring resources into something beyond repair. In the same way, God’s people are warned to come out of Babylon when her corruption becomes evident.

You may remember when the Church of God Restoration felt special—perhaps it was the music, the fellowship, or the sense of purpose. But over time:

  • Leadership demanded absolute obedience and ever‑increasing financial gifts.
  • Honest questions were discouraged, and relationships became strained by control and suspicion.
  • Doctrinal teachings drifted far from the clear Gospel of Scripture.

What began as a church has shown the marks of a cult: discouraging honest questions, exerting undue authority, and substituting human rules for grace. Just as you wouldn’t keep repairing that car or prolonging an animal’s suffering, Scripture calls you to separate yourself from a ministry that no longer bears the fruit of Christ’s kingdom. Leaving isn’t betrayal—it’s obedience to God’s Word and an act of self‑care for your spiritual life.

The only good news is that God still loves you. Even if this ministry failed to value your heart, Christ welcomes you home:

  • Healer of your wounds (Psalm 147:3)
  • Giver of rest to the weary (Matthew 11:28–30)
  • Shepherd of your soul (1 Peter 2:25)

There is a future beyond the Church of God Restoration—one marked by grace, genuine community, and peace in Christ.
