Facing the Truth

Things I Learned Cleaning Fish — And What It Taught Me About Cults

I once went outside to clean a fish. At first, there was nothing — no sound, no movement. But within seconds of laying the fish down, flies appeared out of nowhere. Thirty seconds later, there were dozens, swarming and feeding.

That image stuck with me — because it mirrors what happens in cults like the Church of God, the Restored (COGR). Wherever spiritual decay sets in, damaged and domineering personalities gather. Narcissism, pride, manipulation — even sociopathic tendencies — become the norm. It turns into one giant dysfunctional system parading as the Body of Christ.

One of the most revealing moments I saw on video was when Ray made it clear: he’s in charge, and no one challenges him. The message was all about raw control — and he ended with the shocking statement: “I don’t care if you’re right.”

Let that sink in. What kind of spiritual leader says that?

And in another clip, one of the “apostles” confidently stated: “I’d rather be wrong with the right people than right with the wrong people.”

That isn’t humility — it’s cult loyalty over truth.

If you’re under their influence, it’s time to face the truth:
This is not the Church Jesus built.

Come out of her. Leave Babylon.
Flee the controlling personalities, the false claims of divinity, and the abuse disguised as authority. No human being is Jesus in the flesh, no matter how much they demand your loyalty.

There is life, truth, and freedom beyond this mess — and Jesus himself is calling you to it.
