If only Jesus had warned us about those who would come claiming to be Him—how much easier it would be to spot the deception.
Oh, wait. He did.
In Matthew 24:23–27, Jesus clearly warns:
“Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look! Here is the Messiah!’ or ‘There he is!’—do not believe it. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and produce great signs and omens, to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. Take note, I have told you beforehand. So, if they say to you, ‘Look! He is in the wilderness,’ do not go out. If they say, ‘Look! He is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.”
Jesus didn’t speak vaguely—He gave a direct warning. He knew deceivers would come, twisting His words, mimicking His authority, and preying on the faithful. He said it plainly: when He returns, it will not be in secret. It will not be hidden in a man, a movement, or a message whispered in private rooms. It will be like lightning across the sky—unmistakable.
Yet false messiahs arise, and people still fall for them. Why? Because they do not listen to the voice of the true Shepherd. They exchange the Word of God for the words of men who exalt themselves. They believe the very ones Jesus warned us about—those who use His own Scriptures as bait, twisting truth into lies.
This is no small error—it is spiritual delusion.
Don’t be so naïve. Don’t be so foolish.
If you ignore the words of Jesus, then you are not following Him.
Heed His warning. Reject the counterfeit. Come back to the Christ who speaks truth, not in secret, but with clarity, power, and light.
He has not returned in disguise. But He is returning—and when He does, there will be no mistaking Him.
