COGR – The COGR Knows All and Can Tell All.

COGR – The COGR Knows All and Can Tell All.

January 29, 2024

Good day! I am writing a series of short reviews of abbreviated COGR video clips. I am looking for input and comments. If it makes it easier, I will be glad to supply a Word document so comments can be put in the document, and we can communicate directly. My email address is lattema@icloud.com. I hope you find these reviews helpful.

Transcript:

There was seen at the time of the 7th trumpet, there was seen in his temple at that time. That means you couldn’t see it before. You can only see it when the seven trumpet ministry was introduced to the earth to preach the judgments of God according to what was prophesied in Daniel. And before that, the seven from Adam Enoch, who said the judgment was coming, read please.

There were lightning and voices and thunderings and an earthquake and great hail. Well, this is what time we live in. Saints, if you could bear with me a little bit longer. Is it all right? A little bit longer. Revelation ten. For your encouragement, I’m not going to go through every verse in Revelation 10; be encouraged. I don’t know, it’s not encouraging me. I’m just trying to be thoughtful and considerate and kind.

Verse two, this angel had in his hand. This angel, this angel had in his hand a little book open. If you have your own little personal chart, you’ll see down here there are some curious markings. Down here are some curious markings on the opening. Look down there, if you look at it, we’re almost done. We’re almost done. Just look at your personal one and look at the book in the angel’s hand. And down at the bottom, there are some curious markings. They’re kind of red in color. And I want to show you that. Remember this book that was closed, this book that was closed that no man could take, that no man was worthy to open and loose the seals that nobody understood, that nobody could even look at?

There’s an angel, there’s an angel, there’s an angel that cannot only look at the book but that has the book open in his hands and is unraveling the mysteries that were contained in that book all the way back here. No wonder he said to John, stop weeping. Stop weeping. There’s no reason to weep, because we’re going to tell you everything that was locked away in this book. And what this angel’s job is is to pronounce things that have been hidden, everything that’s been hidden from the foundation of the world.

I won’t read it all, but he, standing with one foot on the sea and one foot on the earth, he’s actually reconciling the entire history of the world, the entire history of the world from the beginning till the end, answering every question that pertains to humanity, answering every doubt, making sense of everything that seemed to not make sense, delivering to the people the judgments on false religion.

One of the questions that atheists and others ask is, why does God allow suffering? And I’ll say to you that this angel has the answers. This angel has the answers. And I even go so far as to say, this angel pronounced the judgment on those that really created the suffering. This pronounces the judgment on those that really created the suffering. And we’re seeing some of that judgment, We will see more.

We see in these beasts. And we see, and all of we were talking about this, this, the revelation of this, is the answer to the questions that the people want to know.

Now I need to go a little bit.

Commentary:

The COGR mythology teaches that the apostles are the 7th Trumpet Ministry and the 7th Trumpet Angel. We learn that here they possess all the wisdom and knowledge of the world and that they will bring judgment. Do these claims have any credibility?

Earlier errors in their theology show their credibility is rocky from the start. Here, Stephen tells us that they are the source of all knowledge and wisdom. Further, not only are they the source of all truth, knowledge, and wisdom, but they are in the process of judging the world. Since some doubts may exist, let’s look first at their claims compared to the text, and then let’s look at the practical outworking of the ministry over the last decade or so.

The text: Rev 10:2 2 He was holding a little scroll, which lay open in his hand. Re 10:8–11 8 Then the voice that I had heard from heaven spoke to me once more: “Go, take the scroll that lies open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land.” 9 So I went to the angel and asked him to give me the little scroll. He said to me, “Take it and eat it. It will turn your stomach sour, but ‘in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey.’” 10 I took the little scroll from the angel’s hand and ate it. It tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I had eaten it, my stomach turned sour. 11 Then I was told, “You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, languages and kings.”

So we have the text itself: a. A little scroll b. John who is the main actor c. Command to eat d. Command to prophesy to peoples, nations, languages and kings.

Versus what Stephen says the text means: a. Angel’s job to pronounce hidden things b. Reconcile history of the world c. Answer every question pertaining to humanity d. Answer every doubt e. Making sense of everything f. Delivering people from false religion g. Pronounced judgment on those who have created suffering

For context, we know the “angel” is the “7th Trumpet Angel” which is composed of Stephen and the other apostles. Just a quick note that I won’t be pursuing further: the “little scroll” is a topic of discussion among scholars who are divided as to whether the scroll of chapter ten is the same scroll as chapter 5 or if it is a new scroll. For these comments, it does not matter which it is. If we look at the text, we note that the angel’s knowledge of the scroll’s content is not discussed, nor is it the angel’s job to proclaim any of what is in the scroll. Nor do we see instructions for that angel to judge. Instead, we see John becoming an actor in the vision, and it is John who eats the scroll. This means that it is John’s job to prophecy. And that is exactly what he has done in writing the Book of Revelation. John is not part of the 7th Trumpet ministry, and none of the tasks listed by Stephen apply to the mythological 7th Trumpet ministry.

The result is that as we look at the generally available history of the group, no serious observer would support a claim that the COGR (7th Trumpet Ministry) has accomplished any of these tasks. There is no evidence that the COGR has solved any problems or brought any wisdom to bear that will affect the world. Nor is there any evidence that the so-called judgments of the COGR have changed anything.
